Statutory guarantees
A product bought in France by a consumer is covered by the legal guarantee of conformity for two years from delivery, and by the guarantee against hidden defects.
Battery safety
The Blade 60 and the K1 run on an 18650 battery, not included. A separate page covers choosing, charging and carrying it.
DNA60 software
The DNA60 version of the Blade 60 and the K1 is configured and updated on a computer with EScribe, Evolv’s software. It is downloaded from Evolv’s website.
FAQ
VC60, AM60 or DNA60: what is the difference?
On each box mod, both versions share the same chassis and dimensions. They differ in chipset and price; the available Blade 60 finishes also depend on the version. The VC60 (Blade 60) and the AM60 (K1) are adjusted directly on the box mod. The DNA60, designed in the United States by Evolv, can also be configured in detail on a computer with the EScribe software (profiles, preheat, wire material), and updated.
Is the battery supplied?
No. The Blade 60 and the K1 take an 18650 battery, sold separately.
Where can I buy Vypers Vapes products?
The Blade 60 and the K1 are sold by the shops listed on the Where to buy page.
Glossary
The atomiser, 15 terms
- Rebuildable atomiser
- An atomiser in which you fit the coil yourself, bought ready-made or wound by hand, and the cotton, instead of screwing in a pre-built coil head.
- RTA
- Rebuildable tank atomiser (also spelt atomizer): a rebuildable atomiser with a tank.
- Deck
- The base of the atomiser where the coil is fixed, with its screws and its liquid inlets.
- Coil
- The coiled resistance wire fixed on the deck: it heats the liquid the cotton brings to it.
- Single coil
- A deck that takes one coil.
- Cotton
- Threaded through the coil, it carries the liquid from the tank to the wire.
- Jig
- The rod the wire is wound round to form the coil; it also helps to fit it.
- Dry burn
- Heating the bare coil in short pulses, before the cotton goes in, to check that it heats evenly.
- Tank
- The part of the atomiser that holds the liquid.
- Liquid control
- A setting that opens or shuts off the flow of liquid to the cotton.
- Top cap
- The top part of the atomiser, under the drip tip.
- Chimney
- The tube that joins the deck to the drip tip, in the centre of the tank.
- Atomising bell
- The part that caps the coil, under the chimney.
- Drip tip
- The mouthpiece, at the top of the atomiser. Its shape goes with the draw: long and slim for MTL, short and flared for DL.
- 510 connector
- The standard thread that joins the atomiser to the box mod and carries the current to it.
The draw, 6 terms
- Draw
- How freely the air passes through the atomiser, from tight to open.
- Airflow
- The atomiser’s air intake: its opening sets the draw.
- Airflow pin
- A small drilled part set in the 510 connector: the diameter of its bore sets the air intake. You change the pin to change the draw.
- MTL (mouth-to-lung)
- An indirect, tight draw, the most restricted of the three.
- RDL (restricted direct-to-lung)
- A restricted direct draw, between MTL and DL.
- DL (direct-to-lung)
- A direct, open draw, the least restricted of the three.
The box mod, 13 terms
- Box mod
- The unit that powers the atomiser: a battery, a chipset that regulates the power, a display and buttons.
- Chipset
- The box mod’s circuit: it measures the coil’s resistance and sets the power sent to it.
- VC60 (Vypers Core 60)
- The Blade 60’s 60 W chipset, adjusted directly on the box mod. On the Blade 60.
- AM60
- The K1’s chipset by Ambition Mods, adjusted directly on the box mod. On the K1.
- DNA60
- Evolv’s 60 W chipset, designed in the United States: it can also be configured in detail on a computer with the EScribe software. On the Blade 60 and the K1.
- EScribe
- Evolv’s software for configuring a DNA box mod on a computer (profiles, preheat, wire material) and updating it.
- VW (variable wattage)
- You choose the power, in watts, sent to the coil.
- TC (temperature control)
- The box mod adjusts the power to hold the coil at the chosen temperature. It needs a wire made for it: nickel (Ni), stainless steel (SS) or titanium (Ti).
- Preheat
- More power at the start of each draw, to bring the coil up to temperature sooner.
- Passthrough
- The box mod stays usable while it charges over USB.
- 18650 battery
- A cylindrical lithium-ion cell, 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm long. It must be charged, stored and carried with care: see the Safety page.
- Resistance (Ω)
- The coil’s electrical value, in ohms. Each box mod accepts a given range.
- Flush
- A flush atomiser sits on the box mod without overhanging its edges.
The materials, 7 terms
- 316L stainless steel
- A grade of stainless steel; the “L” denotes its low carbon content.
- PVD
- Physical vapour deposition: a very thin coating, laid down in a vacuum.
- Knurling
- The ridged or cross-hatched relief machined into a part, for grip.
- Anodising
- A surface treatment of aluminium that hardens and colours it.
- PEEK
- Polyether ether ketone: an engineering plastic that withstands heat.
- Delrin
- Polyoxymethylene: a hard engineering plastic that can be machined precisely.
- Ultem
- Polyetherimide: an amber engineering plastic that withstands heat.
